Madison is an artsy town. This is true of most university towns.
This sign drew my eye (and lens) as I was walking down State Street.
I peered through the window and saw art on the wall. I know the artist who did this work. I saw him just recently and asked him if it was his art, and he said yes. Some of the art is a bit erotic. See for yourself.
Good art is also displayed at other coffee houses.
I am presenting a series of photos of the construction on lower State Street in Madison, WI.
I am doing this post partially due to the prodding of my “coffee shop friend” Jeff, who implied that some people might like to see the progress of construction as it proceeds. My present plan is to periodically update this post as I obtain new pictures of further construction progress. So you might want to bookmark this post and the link below.
It seems that the city workers did a better than usual job of decorating State Street with flowers this last summer.

This is a great Halloween costume.
Freakfest, Madison’s “official” Halloween festival, is Oct. 26 this year. People, especially children, were dressed up in their costumes the day before, which is when this photo was taken.
The students are moving in again, it being the end of August. It is always a nice change.
