Permalink: Construction on lower State Street - winter 2013
I am presenting a series of photos of the construction on lower State Street in Madison, WI. This construction is at the end of 2013 and continues into 2014.
The old University Inn along with the suite of retail stores on the first level are being torn down. A new building supposedly around 8 stories is being put up.
Here people are walking past the site of the soon to be new construction. Here everything is as it was, and the suite of retail stores soon to be torn down are seen on the right.
This photo taken in autumn shows the old University Inn in the background after passing a parking lot.
The left half of this image shows the "old State St." before construction begins.
As autumn proceeds we see that the old retail buildings with the University Inn upper floors are being gutted.
Here the parking lot is being ripped up, and the back side of the old University Inn is seen in the background.
The next photos were taken around Dec. 2013 to about early January 2014.
The next series of photos is taken after the old buildings have been raised. The pictures show preparations for laying a new foundation, construction equipment in the parking lot, and the backdrop of Madison buildings in the background.
The next photos are from about early January to the end of January.
I am presenting the items here as a topic of photography. I do not necessarily agree or disagree with views, opinions, and positions shown or implied by the photography, video, or written material.
These notes apply to photos in general.
