New construction project on State St.

There is a new construction project on State St.

Shown below is a walking tunnel around mid-State Street.

The tunnel ends at the Ragstock store.

Gone are the places: the old Q-nique billiards building, Chasers Bar and Grill, Avol’s books, the Gap, The Canterberry In, Terry’s car care, Rimrock bar and grill, and other stores. Some of these stores have relocated. Buildings past the Ragstock store on State St. are now gone, and the whole block, to the right of the walkway shown above, is gutted all the way down to Johnson St.

It may be a shame to see such beautiful and classic old buildings be no more. But progress marches on.

This is another large construction project. I am always impressed by the professionalism of the workers who construct such buildings.

Items discussed here show some changes on State Street. There may be changes not shown or discussed. An item that I say is new could be new within the last year. Such time specifications can be very imprecise. The same applies to a store that has left. Further, new/old means new/old to this location. The store for example may have moved from some other location and is new to State St.
