When the full crock won’t do, try crock lite.

    1. I don’t have a policy yet on using images.

Tentatively if you want to use an image in the same way that people do pingbacks, then you may do this, provided that you give fair credit to the source by giving the link to the web page where the image appears. You must do this in a fashion which is generally regarded as “fair and reasonable”.

When or if I develop an “official policy” I will post it somewhere on my website.

The word “can I take” is misleading. Can I use a link to one of your images provided that I reference it? The answer to the second question is yes.

I have a very large investment in time and money in my images. Generally if someone wants to do a pingback or the equivalent for an image I will allow it (tentatively). It looks like this will then be a situation where both of us can benefit.

Otherwise my images can be licensed for commercial use, and prints in general can be obtained.

I notice that generally the larger the investment in equipment and time that there is, the “fussier” the copyright owner is about “free” use. There are many strong statements, some much stronger than this, for example on flickr.

I do thank you for your politeness in asking.
