Steak and potato
This post shows my results making a steak with a baked potato. A nice steak, normally out of my price range, was on sale at the grocery store, so I decided I would try to make one. This is a classic “meat and potatoes” dish with some fried vegetables along with a hot touch. The steak, potato, and onions dish was fabulous, and it was not too hard to make.
More foods – mostly healthy
Here is an assortment of foods that I have eaten within the last months. Most of the items are healthy.
Chocolate chip bagels are tasty.
Omelet with cheese and beans
I am beginning the omelet with some nice choice ingredients. Eggs and onions are typical, and I am adding some slices of pepper jack cheese as shown below.
New food on State
There are several new restaurants going up on State St. The Wendy’s below is brand new, as of about a month ago. Personally, Wendy’s has always been a hit with me.
This new one is a candy store ?? I’m not sure, but I like the photo.
Healthy things including yerba mate
Here are an assortment of foods that I munch on to try to stay healthy.
- The first picture shows some spaghetti and meatballs with yerba mate mixed in. I have commented in previous posts about the health benefits of yerba mate. I am not so sure about the healthiness of the spaghetti though.
- Navel oranges were on sale and orange slices are always tasty and healthy.
Braunschweiger and cheese sandwich
Here is a sandwich I made just a few days ago. It consists of that god-awful German word braunschweiger. It is sometimes called liverwurst. I do not know of its health benefits, and is something that I eat on occasion. I added four slices of Mozzarella cheese and pickles were also on sale so I added them also. The bread is good multi-grain bread and has 4g of fiber per slice. I actually don’t eat sandwiches a lot, but when and if I do, I tend to use good bread, for health reasons. This simple and fast dish was also quite tasty!
