This photo was taken at the Cars on State show of classic cars.
These cars were on display on Madison’s State Street on June 2, 2012. It is interesting seeing the many old classic cars.

State Street is a mecca of photographic opportunity. The European style street cafes present a variety of nice images that reflect on the lifestyle. I show a few such images below.
I snapped some photos of vegetables at the June 9 farmer’s market. There are lots of photo opportunities here, and this is one of the nicest farmer’s markets in the nation.
A set of notes on the Japan nuclear crisis is now found on my website -> http://www.georgeschils.com/w1/timely/nuclear/1/nuke2.html. The last section on radiation levels is interesting and I do a number of unit conversions. I will be updating this analysis. I have spent a lot of time gathering data, writing, and doing the analysis.
A football Saturday in Madison is quite exhilarating. From early on, you can feel the tension – the party feel – in the air. It just feels different. It feels like a party everywhere. You go about your tasks and you cannot help but see the people everywhere – all in red.
When the game time is near you can see the flocks of people – streams of people – all in red – going to the game. They flock down University Ave, they pour out of the dorms and flock down Dayton Ave, and people flock down Randall Ave. When I see people pouring out of the dorms like this, I wonder if there is anyone left in the dorms. Football Saturday is so universal. You can just feel the charge in the air!
This is a chili that I made fairly recently maybe around two weeks ago. A usual scenario is that I have just gotten back from the local farmer’s market, and want to make a nice vegetable dish.
This is a “robust” chili where there are many kinds of ingredients. There are two kinds of kale, two kinds of onions, peppers, hot seasoning peppers, and beans. When all done, this is a really tasty meal.
Here are some shots of street cafe lifestyle.
Autumn, my favorite season, is well underway. The beautiful yellows and golds of autumn are now about at their vibrant peak. I try to capture some of this charm on State St.
