1. Introduction

This page contains notes and clarifications pertaining to photography by George Schils.

2. Support and sponsorship

I am sponsored by no organization such as a newspaper, government, or university. No commercial patrons support this work. I receive no money from any of the above sources.

3. Views and opinions

Photographic work represents my wish and desire to capture something whether it be beauty, or anything. These pictures or views do not represent any of the above non-sponsors, nor are they taken to be a promotion of products, services, or related commercial ventures in any way or form. Similarly these photographs and views do not represent the views or opinions of the nearby university or government. In fact, some of the views often do not represent my own views.

4. Coverage

I am not "owner" of any region that I may appear to "cover." This work is not meant to discourage other photographers or amateurs from visiting and photographing areas depicted.

5. Other notes - copyright

These pictures are copyright George Schils. This photography is not free, and copyright law applies.

6. Nonaccurate portrayals

I term this image art rather than photography. I reserve the right to modify images in any way. Some photos are enhanced, and some enhancements are artificial. Artistic license applies in that any photograph modified in any artistic way can be portrayed. I do not necessarily state this in accompanying text.

7. Content Alterations

Web pages and writing may be altered, changed, modified, improved, updated, or other at any time after the date on which the web page is first displayed. The right to do this is reserved at any time and for any reason.

Usually page updates are to fix small errors and typos and things of this nature.

Sometimes web pages are living documents where content is continually being added. The extent to which web pages and writing is constant versus how often it is updated or additions are made to it is up to the discretion of George Schils. Often such aspects are mentioned on the pertinent web page or index to it, although such mention need not necessarily occur.

8. Timeliness

Some photo sets are of a timely nature in that new photos are offered on a regular basis. Whether this be a daily, monthly, yearly, or whatever photo, there is no guarantee that new images will be posted on this time basis. That is, photos marked as "daily" might be updated on a weekly basis. How often photos are updated is up to the discretion of George Schils.

9. Multiple listings

Photos displayed in one set or under one topic may appear elsewhere under different topics, etc. That a photo appears at any given location does not assure that it cannot appear elsewhere as a member of a different photo set.

10. Quality

Images portrayed and presented may be at varying levels of quality.

11. Private collections

Additional on-line photos may be available to various sorts of clients.

Some accounts to view additional photos are free.

12. Photo journalism

Photography is offered for internet viewing as is. (Note it is copyrighted material). The purpose of this photography is to create photo journalistic and internet magazine-like portrayals of life, buildings, art, nature, or whatever. Web pages with photos are presented as is for your learning, entertainment, enjoyment, or whatever.

George Schils photography is probably more aptly called George Schils internet photo journalism.

13. Prints

Obtaining prints of some of the photos presented is possible. Not all items are for sale but some are.

14. Other qualifications

The qualifications and notes specified here are general and apply in general. In some cases, there may be additional or overriding conditions and qualifications. In some cases additional conditions may be implicit or obvious by context, or otherwise not stated. For example, it may be that prints are not available for some photo sets whereas they may be available for others.
