Big Brother and the Holding Company
6th November 2008

I just read an article saying that banking has consolidated to "just" three Megabanks.

A good piece of financial wisdom seems to have come from the Haight Asbury financial expert Janis Joplin. The name of the band Big Brother and the Holding Company is starting to make sense many years after the 60's. This band name is foresighted and futuristic.

With the government taking hold of many banks, due to the present financial turmoil, and with the consolidation of banks, our economy is getting to be described by the above band name.

The fellow lifeboatwithducktape, who frequently writes comments to the MarketWatch page articles, is worth following. Many of his references are worth checking. Here is an item that I found valuable from one of his comments.

Here is an article on low tax rates. I am not arguing one way or the other, but this story is interesting.
