Sources
It should be noticed that two important sources for a good
number of the links listed below are: 1. The Harrumph site. (This site is now
redirected to a different site and so some kind of archive needs to
be identified to obtain the original source material.) 2. The Isthmus
Daily Features page.
You can probably pick through these sites mentioned above and
find many more interesting things.

attitude" is a place to find some interesting and funny items.

Blogs. We like compiling blog links. Of course there is
no shortage. These are now a small collection here and a small
collection there. Maybe at some time we will present a grand
compilation of links. It is probably only a question of time.
Here are some of the blog links: [1] [2] [3]

It's the last day of the year.
Financial. There's a zillion financial links. (We might
collate more in some future article.) Wall $treet Week with FORTUNE PBS
presents PBS coverage of many events, and many items covered are
never seen on so called "commercial air." The title of this article
on new
world disorder is pretty catchy. The term world disorder is
maybe better than "world order".

Nice pictures from an amazing time. Einstein-Image and Impact.
AIP History Center exhibit.
There are some pictures here from an amazing era in science and
physics. Many of the greats: Bohr, Schrodinger, Einstein, and more
are shown here in group photos. A friend of mine once commented
"imagine the brainpower when these people gathered." The picture of
Einstein with a hat on is classic.
These pictures are from a different era and time. These are from
a time the likes of which we probably will not see again for quite
some time.
There was more progress in physics in the few short years that
these men were alive than there was in all previous history.

Nikola Tesla. With a man of Thomas Edison's
accomplishments, it is amazing that a fellow like Tesla was
remembered at all. Hey, are you AC or DC? [1] [2] [3] [4]
One area of dispute between Tesla and Edison was on the issue of
commutation. It was the DC motor that had a commutator, and
commutation was something that Tesla succeeded in eliminating in
his early work on ac motors.

Years ago supposedly FEREGO had a high quality Java programmer
who created this applet. It's always
hard to figure out what to call this stuff and we had the fun of
trying to come up with a name. We almost called this something like
Space Crystals or Laser Space Speckle or Space
Spark Opera. Or maybe this should be given a reference like
Starry Night, although we'd be lucky to gain fame in that
"high art" league. We'll stick with "A snowy evening" and "he gives
his harness bells a shake". We also almost called this "Posted
Frosted Flakes".

kind of original art. I couldn't come up with a name like this in a
million years.

George Westinghouse did much pioneering work in railroads and
electricity. Are there any analogies to today? The internet could
be said to be a railroad carrying information goods, and the gods
of the internet today are much like the railroad magnates of 70-100
years ago. Is there anything we can learn from history?

Bloggers are cool. They almost do all the work for you and all
you have to do is type. They do the formatting and most bloggers
also pay for the site, so it turns out to be completely free. The
catch is that they use your content for their adds - fair enough
maybe. This is the first blogger that I had been aware of. It
is interesting to see how this is updated even every minute. There
are numerous other bloggers on the web now.
