Mifflin Street Block Party 2007

photography and words by George Schils

Hey, where are you going with all that beer?

The party started out with a gentle crowd whose size steadily increased during the day.

The crowds are beginning to grow.

This arrest was early in the day.

Throughout the day a pack of zombies, residing near the now dead Mifflin Street Coop, were wondering around. They were wondering around in a stupefied rage, chanting ... "brains, brains, I need to eat brains." Now that the Coop is "dead", the only thing left to do is to wonder around looking for brains to eat. One of the zombies is shown here beginning to chomp on an unsuspecting female. He begins first with a lock of hair, and then moves towards the brain ...

The now dead Mifflin Street Coop was housed in this distinctive looking building. This is a classic landmark in the Mifflin area.

There is partying at every level.

Some people had a drink or two.

People were jammed every where, and reached back into the back alleys.

The party "swelled over" into the back alleys.

All in all, it was a fun time for all, a time when all were friendly, a time when all were at peace, a time when all had fun, a time when all knew the truth, a time for drink, a time when all got along.
